Deflection Tactics - The Key to Unlocking Powerful Moves
Deflection vs. Decoy: What's the Difference?
It's important to distinguish deflection from another tactic called a decoy. While both involve manipulating your opponent's pieces, they achieve this in different ways:
- Deflection: You lure the opponent's piece away from a good square, typically where it defends something important.
- Decoy: You lure the opponent's piece to a bad square, where it becomes vulnerable or weakens their position.
Deflection focuses on removing a defender, while a decoy aims to trap or misplace an enemy piece.
